The project
Centro de Cine y Creación is a community cinema in Santiago - the kind of place where families, artists, filmmakers, and neighbors gather around film and culture.
They needed a website that felt as vibrant and accessible as the space itself. Not a corporate cinema site, but something that reflected their mission: cinema for everyone.
What I built
A React + GraphQL site that handles their film calendar, event programming, news, and donation management. Bold typography, bright colors (pink, yellow, black), and a layout that feels energetic without overwhelming.
The site needed to be:
- Easy for their small team to update
- Clear about what is showing when
- Welcoming to families and first-time visitors
- Fast and accessible
Tech stack
React for the frontend, GraphQL for content management. The client needed flexibility to update programming quickly, and GraphQL gave them that control without complexity.
Why it matters
Cultural spaces like CCC are vital for neighborhoods. They create gathering points outside of commerce. A good website extends that mission - making it easy for anyone to discover what is happening and show up.
